But there is also still a demand for an Arma 3 mod. Has an Arma 3 mod failed in the past? yes. to make this not only DayZRP but DayZWorld. I enjoy ARMA 3 greatly, I have 1700 hours in it, but the fact of the matter is that ARMA 3 is a combined arms shooter/sim and not a game built for survival roleplay.īut back to the point at hand. TL DR: It already is happening some time in the near (?) future unless Roland decides to shelf that.

I think that is just brilliant and cannot wait for it to happen. What happens on each map will be echoed on the others. The only thing that will put limitations on you will be the capabilities of each game/mod. You will, in practicality, be just traveling in between maps (Chernarus in Standalone, Namalsk in Arma 2 and Esseker in Arma 3). Basically as Roland explained you will be able to play on all 3 servers at your own leisure and your character progression will still be tied to that of everybody else's. Eventually when we are done with the essential in-house development of Standalone on our end, I still expect the Arma 2 DayZRP Mod and Arma 3 Exile servers to be brought up as part of the world. The DayZ World project as announced by Roland should still be in effect unless it was cancelled and I missed it. Regardless, I personally am not asking for the community to choose Arma 3 over Standalone (I know you are not either).

More refined game mechanics, a much wider variety of mods that actually work as intended, much better admin tools and easy customizability are just a few of the reasons why it trumps Standalone in my honest opinion. I have always favored Arma 3 DayZ over Standalone and for good reason. Other than that, it would be great and honestly that is what I want. I would love to hear some different opinions.įirst of all, I do not think it would require a separate whitelist - though it may be wise to implement some additional rules based on Arma 3 mechanics.

Feel free to pick apart everything I said. So I am sorry if I am blind or missing some insight. I have never ran a server, nor do I know how it is to be in staff.

The staff could run event's regularly, with maybe even some staff factions? That paired with the amount of control you have with zeus in arma 3? It could be amazing. But a way to help in this area in my opinion would be the Mod staff like I mentioned. Which leads to people not taking them seriously. They in my opinion have always been always seen as a side project and have received less support as a response. Personally I think the mods haven't been taken seriously. As for a whitelist? I think it would help make sure people going onto the server actually know the different rules and would help make less reports. Who were definitely more super solider than survivor. That for example would be to "silly" and "Unrealistic" in standalone. Which In my opinion would leave the rp to be a lot more relaxed. It is definitely less on the realism side. As for the rules and whitelist? Arma is a lot different than standalone. I just think if a separate staff team was made up of people playing the mods they would care more for it and hopefully help it succeed. You joined this community for standalone. I think one of main reasons the Mod's have failed is because the staff team wasn't playing or they didn't care for the mods. Specifically I think It needs separate rules, a separate whitelist, and a separate staff team. I think Arma 3 needs to be treated differently than standalone if it is to succeed. Thread /closed." And I would agree with that statement. And I already know what your going to say. But I do think an Arma 3 server could work. It is obsolete and not coming back no matter how hard I want it to. I just have my nostalgia googles on and I agree. That and how they seem to break the game every patch. Lately I have been very disappointed with standalone.
